In order to extend the life of your coffee brewer and reach the most optimal taste and quality, we recommend that you descale your machine once every second month. Descaling the Nespresso Citiz®
We recommend that you descale your Citiz® machine once every two (2) months. This is due to harsh water in the north, which wear on the machine and necessitates being regularly descaled. - Switch on the machine
- Ensure that all capsules have been removed from the slot and tray. Also, empty the drip tray
- Place a 1liter container under the coffee spout
- Pour 350ml water into the coffee machines water tank along with 125 ml. of Real Coffee descaling and return the tank to the machine
- When both buttons stop blinking, you are now able to activate the descaling program. This is done by holding both buttons down for 3 seconds
- When the buttons begin to blink at short intervals the descaling program has been activated
- Press the Lungo button to begin the descaling process
- When the mixture has run through the machine, pour the mixture back into the water tank
- Press the Lungo button and repeat the process
- When the mixture has been through the machine twice you discard the mixture and thoroughly clean the mounted water tank with clean water
- Fill the mounted water tank with clean water and press the Lungo button to rinse your machine
- When water has run through the machine, empty the drip tray Press and hold both buttons for 3 seconds to end descaling program
Your machine has now been descaled and is ready for use.
Descaling U-models with serial-number higher than 13142
There are several U-models on the market. This instruction applies to U - models® with serial numbers higher than 13142. You can find the serial number on the bottom of your machine. - Ensure that all capsules have been removed from the slot and tray. Also, empty the drip tray
- Place a 1-liter container under the coffee tap
- Pour 350 ml water into the coffee machines water tank along with 125 ml. Real Coffee descaling and return the tank onto the machine
- Turn on the machine by pressing a button
- When the light stops flashing, you can activate the descaling program. To do this, press and hold all 3 buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. NOTE! The sliding door must be closed
- When the machine beeps, you can start descaling
- Now open the sliding door and press the 3 buttons again, simultaneously, for 3 seconds
- When the machine beeps and buttons flash rapidly, descaling is activated
- Close the sliding lid to start the program
- When the mixture has run through the machine, pour the mixture into the water tank again
- Press a button and let the mixture run through the machine
- When the mixture has run through the machine twice, empty the container and rinse the water tank thoroughly with clean water
- Fill the water tank with clean water and press a button to clean the machine
- When the water has run through the machine, empty the drip tray
- Now press all three buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to exit the descaling program
- When the machine beeps, the program is completed
Your machine is now descaled and ready for use.
Descaling Nespresso Pixie®
We recommend that you descale your Nespresso Pixie® once every second month. This is due to the hard water in the north, which wears on the machine and requires regular decalcification. - Turn on the machine
- Ensure that all capsules have been removed from the slot and tray. Also, empty the drip tray
- Close lever
- Place 1-liter water container under the coffee tap
- Pour 350 ml. in the water tank along with 125 ml. of Real Coffee-softener, and return it to the machine
- When the 2 buttons stop flashing, you can activate the descaling program. This is done by pressing and holding both buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds
- When the buttons flash rapidly, descaling is activated
- Press the Lungo button to start the descaling
- When the mixture has run through the machine, pour the mixture back in to the water tank
- Press the Lungo button and repeat the process
- When the mixture has run through the machine twice, empty the container and rinse the water tank thoroughly with clean water
- Fill the tank with clean water and press the Lungo button to clean your machine
- When the water has run through the machine, repeat the process
- When the water has run through the machine twice, empty the drip tray
- Press and hold both buttons for 3 seconds to exit the descaling program
- When the two lights begin flashing it indicates that the water is heated

Descaling Lattissima Touch®
We recommend that you descale your Lattissima® once every second month. This is due to the hard water in the north, which wears on the machine and requires regular decalcification. - Turn on the machine
- Make sure the machine is empty of capsules
- Empty the drip tray
- Fill the water tank with 350 ml. water together with 125 ml. Real Coffee-softener
- Place a 500ml water container under the dispensing- and hot-water tap
- When the button stops flashing, you can enable descaling
- Attach the tap for hot water
- The descaler-light turns on indicating that the descaling program is activated
- Press the milk-foam-button to start descaling your machine
- The mixture flows alternately through the coffee tap and hot water tap
- Empty drip tray, water containers and clean the water tank thoroughly with clean water
- Fill the water tank with clean water
- Return the two water containers under the coffee and hot water tap
- Press the milk-foam-button to clean your machine
- Allow alll the water to run through the machine
- When the process is finished, the machine is automatically in energy-saving mode
- Empty drip tray and wipe the machine
